SYNFERM™ Pigment

Marigolds, chilies, and tomato skins are the main sources used for the extraction of natural pigments. However, various factors such as growth seasons, weather, and geographical environments may lead to storage difficulties, which result in rotting and a reduction in the amount of extracted pigments. As pigment content forms the basis of yield valuation, many pigment manufacturers strive to increase pigment content. The SYNFERM™ Pigment contains Lactobacillus strains that rapidly produce lactic acid, thus the pigment content and appearance of preserved flowers can be kept fully intact without rotting, and cell walls can be effectively degenerated, which increases the extracted pigment content by 30–40%. Further processing is also easier, more convenient, and more economical with the use of SYNFERM™ Pigment.

Unsed

  • Flowers are mashed, petals are no longer intact
  • High moisture content
  • Pelleting is difficult, low pellet yield
  • Long drying time, high energy consumption
  • Complete pigment extraction is difficult, low extract yield

Use SYNFERM™ Pigment

  • No moldy appearance, brightly colored
  • Venation patterns of petals are distinct
  • Excess moisture content is largely removed, minor pigment loss
  • Short drying time, low energy consumption
  • Appropriate moisture content for pelleting, high pellet yield
  • High extract yield
